David Roderique, Economic Development Director

David Roderique joined the City of Buckeye as their Economic Development Director in July 2017, and is very excited about the chance to focus on “Arizona’s Biggest Opportunity”. Prior to Buckeye, Dave served as an economic/real estate consultant with Gruen Gruen + Associates, as the Executive Director of the Downtown Phoenix Partnership, and as the Economic Development Director for the City of Scottsdale. He is active in a variety of community groups, including the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), and the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED). Dave received both BA and MA degrees in Geography and Regional Development from the University of Arizona, and he has continued his education through such programs as the Harvard Kennedy School’s executive/professional program, and through IEDC’s Economic Development Institute, which led to his accreditation as a Certified Economic Developer.

Suzie Boyles is the Economic Development Manager for the City of Buckeye.  Beginning her career in economic development in 2013, Suzie comes to Buckeye with years of municipal Economic Development experience.  Throughout her career she has managed projects and programs that supported key economic development initiatives; including business attraction, marketing, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and business retention and expansion efforts.  To date she has successfully located numerous businesses of all types to the communities she has served. She has also lead a wide variety of successful incentive negotiations throughout her career. Suzie even was able to implement a city’s first ever Lodging Tax and facilitated the changing of a Transaction Privilege Tax rate that further advanced business attraction efforts to a community.  Suzie attended Western New Mexico University, were she received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration.  Suzie brings both an extensive experience base and accomplished educational background to the city and is excited to be a part of “Arizona’s Biggest Opportunity”

Tennille Hiller, Economic Development Coordinator

Prior to joining the City of Buckeye, Tennille worked in both the public and private sectors where she gained over 17 years of experience in department management and customer service. Through her experiences in the mortgage industry, corporate world and Court system, Tennille worked with a variety of customers, clients and executives. Tennille serves as the liaison between businesses seeking new opportunities in Buckeye and the economic development team. Through her dedicated customer service and attention to detail, clients seeking information about the City of Buckeye can contact Tennille with any inquiry. Within her role, Tennille also over sees projects such as the Economic Development Catalyst Program as well as provides oversight to the economic development website.
