New virtual classes to stay Active at Home

Buckeye’s Community Services Department is offer two new special interest classes virtually. Classes for Goju Rya Karate begin July 1 and Observing the Night Sky begins in August. These classes are part of the popular Active at Home program, but since they are lived-streamed with an instructor, do have a minimal registration fee. 

Goju Ryu Karate – traditional karate emphasizing fitness, courtesy and self-discipline to help keep our minds and hearts healthy and strong. lady doing karate at sunset

  • July 1 - 29
  • Mondays and Wednesday, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
  • $20 for residents, $30 for non-residents
  • For ages 6 and up

Observing the Night Sky – learn about the different types of telescopes, setting up and using one properly, cool accessories, basic astrophotography, reference books, apps, etc.Telescope at night

  • Aug. 6 – 27
  • Thursdays, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  • $30 for residents, $40 for non-residents
  • For ages 13 and up
