City Council Special Meeting to discuss face masks

The Buckeye City Council is holding a Special Meeting on June 23, at 4 p.m. to discuss a possible resolution regarding wearing facemasks in public to slow the spread of COVID-19. Buckeye City Council Chambers

Yesterday, Governor Doug Ducey announced new public health guidance and a new Executive Order 2020-40 to respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The Executive Order specifies that counties, cities and towns may adopt policies regarding the wearing of face coverings in public for mitigating the spread of COVID-19. 

Since public access is still restricted at city facilities due to COVID-19, the audio of the Special Council Meeting will be streamed live on YouTube.

Public comments for this Special Meeting can be done by email or phone.

  • Email comments to Comments must be received by 2 p.m. on June 23 to be included in the official meeting record. 
  • To comment by phone, participants must first complete the public comment form by 2 p.m. on June 23. The City Clerk’s office will call each participant during the meeting.
