Applications open for City Council District 6 vacancy

Buckeye residents interested in representing Council District 6 can now submit their applications to the City Clerk’s office. To qualify for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria:Buckeye City Council Chambers

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Buckeye residents in District 6 for a minimum of one year
  • Registered voter

To apply, interested candidates must submit the following documentation:

  • Letter of Interest
  • Online application
  • Acknowledgement of Qualifications

Applicant interviews will be determined by a sub-committee consisting of three current Councilmembers not running for re-election in August.

The boundaries for District 6 are Northern Avenue to Yuma Road, Perryville Road to Miller north of I-10, and Perryville to approximately 223rd Ave. south of I-10.

On April 2, 2020, District 6 Councilmember Eric Orsborn resigned. His term ends in 2022.
