Latest information on city programs and events from COVID-19

As Buckeye continues to respond to the developing COVID-19 situation, the following plans are in effect to protect the health and safety of residents and employees. 

As of Monday, March 16:

Buckeye City Hall
-Remains open for certain business
-Utility Billing customer service counters at City Hall and 21749 W. Yuma Road will be closed until further notice
-Passport Office will be closed until further notice
-Residents are encouraged to stay home if they are feeling ill and to use online services when possible:

Apply for a Business License
Community Facilities District (CFD) Payment

Buckeye Area Schools
-Statewide closure of all Arizona schools through March 27, 2020
-Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) canceled to follow school closure schedule

Buckeye Municipal Court
-If you are scheduled to appear in court on March 24, 2020 your case has been rescheduled to April 14, 2020
-If you are scheduled to appear in court on March 25, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. your case has been rescheduled to April 20, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.
-If you are scheduled to appear in court on March 31, 2020 your case has been rescheduled to April 21, 2020
-If you are scheduled to appear in court on March, 25 2020 and April 1, 2020 for a “Civil Traffic” matter your case has NOT been rescheduled. You have the option to call in and handle your matter by phone or you may appear in court as scheduled.
-Persons with outstanding warrants will still be seen
-Persons filing a petition for an Order of Protection or Injunction Against Harassment will still be seen.
-We will NOT be issuing Marriage Licenses or scheduling wedding ceremonies until further notice.
-If you are sick, please call (623) 349-6517 immediately and you will be given a new court date.

Buckeye Library System
-Coyote Branch and Downtown Libraries closed until further notice
        -Access to digital materials such as eBooks and eAudio materials, on-line databases, digital learning platforms, music, magazines, etc. are available with your library card
-Book drops temporarily closed - Late fees are and books automatically renewed
-Museum closed until further notice
-Bookmobile closed until further notice

Dr. Saide Recreation Center
-Closed at this time; all programs at the Recreation Center have been postponed or cancelled until further notice.

Buckeye Area Parks
-Parks remain open
-Park bathrooms are closed until further notice
 -Water fountains are turned off until further notice

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off
-Postponed until further notice
-Residents with a solid waste account can request a landfill certificate for storm debris by emailing

As a reminder, the following were implemented on Friday, March 13:

Buckeye Senior Center
-Meal delivery and medical transportation will continue as scheduled
-Residents who enjoy their meals at the Senior Center can now pick them up at the center, or have them delivered to their home
-All other programs and events at this location are cancelled till further notice

Other city events, programs and facilities are currently under evaluation as the city continues to find ways to reduce exposure with large groups of people and between employees. Please check back for the most current information to city programs and events. Employees are following the recommended CDC guidelines for regularly cleaning and disinfecting common areas.
