Election packets available
Buckeye residents interested in becoming an official candidate for office in the Tuesday, Aug. 4 Primary Election can check out an election packet by appointment through the City Clerk’s office.
Packets include the Statement of Interest form and all necessary paperwork required to become an official candidate.
To qualify as a candidate, residents must be 18 years of age or older, speak, write and read the English language, and reside in the city (for Mayor) and/or the District (for Council) they are representing for one year, prior to the election.
Four-year terms on the Aug. 4 ballot are for Mayor at Large and Council Districts 1, 2 and 3. The terms will expire in 2024.
The Clerk’s office will accept signature petitions between Monday, March 9 and Monday, April 6 at 5 p.m.
To vote in the Primary Election, the voter registration deadline is Monday, July 6, 2020.
